Bringing the outside in is a project which explores how teaching practices that more closely reflect learners’ heritage can bridge the gap between multilingual communities and the monolingual classroom.
The project ran 2019-2022 and was funded by a Global Challenges Research Fund grant via the British Academy. The project brought together experts working in language and linguistics, and was a collaboration between researchers at the University of Essex, University of Botswana, University of Zambia and the University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).
